Michael Moloi
Michael Moloi an artist, dance choreographer, Animals vocal mimic. Born in the Johannesburg, South Africa. Michael displayed an amazing talent for sports, arts and dance at a very young age. In 1998 Michael become an artist director of Via-katlehong successful dance troupe and toured over Africa and Europe, He choreographed rhythmically intricate routines that incorporated the different dance style, which has their origins in their culture and the Tradition.
In December 2005 Tumelo Michael Moloi joined Cirque du Soleil, as “Sugar Plum Fairy”, a role he created and played for 10 years and recreated/refreshed the role/character in 2016 for the production of Beatles LOVE show.
In 2017 after 11 years performing with Cirque he continues with his mission, teaching and performing in Oregon. He display shows that talk about his home ground during and after apartheid, his shows start with him mimicking nature from South Africa to industrial urban life. With his style Gumboots and Pantsula dance and his storytelling technique, he draws audience from all over the world. Michael temporarily performs at SHINERS a residency show in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a stage director and choreographer for Sanibonani the show 2024.
